Kings rink from St. Albert, Alta., cruised to an 11-3 win over Japans Mikiko Tsuchiya on Monday to improve to 3-0 and atop the round-robin pool. "Theres always room for improvement," said third Carolyn Morris. "Anytime you miss a shot, theres room for improvement. "But I like our cohesiveness. Were very much a team that sticks together through missed shots and made shots. We have each others backs." Canada stole four in the fifth end en route to the victory. The world senior event is being held in conjunction with the world mixed doubles championship. Morris is the Canadian teams most experienced player but this marks the first time that shes played in the event representing her native country. Morris played for Scotland four times, winning gold in 2005 and silver in 2003 when her family was living there for business reasons. Curling success runs in Morriss family. Her son, Sean, is a former world junior champion representing Canada in 1994. Seans wife, Cori, won an Olympic silver medal in 2010 playing lead for Cheryl Bernards Canadian team. Morriss daughter, Kim, won the Scottish womens title in 2006 and played in the world championship event in Grande Prairie, Alta. And Kim Morriss husband, Tom Brewster, won silver medals at the 2011 and 2012 world mens competitions. Playing for Canada has been gratifying for Carolyn Morris. "Its awesome," she said. "I cant say anything else but awesome. "The opening ceremonies were exhilarating. I had goosebumps, I had tears in my eyes. It was fantastic. To wear the Maple Leaf is a dream come true for me. I was very proud and honoured to represent Scotland, but Im a Canadian and Im so excited to be here." The Canadian team returns to the ice Tuesday to face New Zealands Liz Matthews (1-1). Rob Armitage of Red Deer, Alta., improved to 4-0 in the mens tournament with a 6-4 win over Australias Hugh Millikin (4-1). In mixed doubles action, Robert Desjardins and Isabelle Neron of Saguenay, Que., improved to 2-2 with a 12-3 win over Romanias Valentin Anghelinei and Ana-Maria Saracu. The win came following two straight losses for Canada. "It was important to win, we knew we couldnt lose," said Neron. Added Desjardins: "We wanted to get our draw weight back (after Sunday), which we did. We drew very well in that game. The ice was terrific and it was easy to draw (Monday) and were slowly getting our confidence back. Thats what we needed." The Canadians face Hungarys Zsolt Kiss and Dorottya Palancsa (2-1) on Tuesday. The U.S. trustee for Delawares bankruptcy court agreed to appoint two representatives of the season ticket holders to the Dodgers official committee of unsecured creditors. In return, lawyers for an ad hoc group of season ticket holders withdrew a motion seeking court approval of an official committee of ticket holders. Lawyers argued in the motion that season ticket holders had invested millions of dollars in the team and deserved an official voice in the bankruptcy, but the motion was opposed by both the Dodgers and the creditors committee. "Our concern is that there would have been protracted litigation over the appointment of an official season ticket holders committee while significant matters are being decided in the bankruptcy cases that will determine the fate of the Dodgers franchise," Robbin Itkin, a lawyer for the ticket holders, said in a statement released Tuesday. "This resolution allows for the immediate participation of two season ticket holders on the official committee so that hopefully the perspectives and salient interests of the season tickets holders will be represented in the actions of the official committee."
